Great to hear them this morning - both safely back home, but also in such a high profile slot - 07.35 and a live interview with Jim Naughtie none the less. I thought they came across very well - modest, intelligent and quite charming.

It's still frustrating that in order to get such prominent coverage it has to be due to the emergency rather than the racing itself.

You guys, watching breakfast tele at quarter to nine..... wish I was still at home then, but been at work for nearly an hour /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Could be it was a bit of luck that MG did have to turn back, what he was saying this morning, sounds like his boat would have been in trouble soon as it had to climb up wind. At least he had help and he was relatively close to SA.

They are live on South Today BBC1 6.30-7.00pm tonight /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Congratulations to Mike Golding on a text book rescue of a fellow competitor!

I wouldn't have expected anything other than this.... thats one thing I like about sailing, the fact that there is nearly always someone who will go out of their way to help you.

Very true. Let's just remember that the next time we see something that doesn't look quite right. Asking someone if they are OK can be just enough to catch a potential problem before it becomes a disaster. It seems like a good idea to build up our Karma account in advance just in case we need to draw on it one day. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
