The Midlands group of the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) had its first foray behind enemy lines (well Newark actually) last night (thanks to Stugeron Steve for organising), and a good time "chewing the cud" was had by those that made it. The best bits were actually putting faces to usernames and talking about other forumites!
It got me thinking, many "clubs" eg MG Car Club, have Regional Associations, and regular meetings at a central points ("central" NOT being Newark for the Midlands!). Our group are to meet again in a few weeks, and maybe, especially in the winter months, they could become more regular. Other geographical areas (NE/NW etc) might consider something along the same lines. I have no idea how many forum users live in the various regions, but to meet every quarter for a meal and a pint could help while the colder months away?
The Midlands Special Forces Group would welcome others from the central region to our next get together.
Very informal, but most enjoyable, and recommended.
