Anyone have any comment on Midland handheld VHF, I'm getting one (new, guarantee etc., but at a discount) as an interim VHF while I sort the aerial cable, but will be sailing 100NM coastal in the next three weeks so want to make sure it is OK. Thanks.

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. One positive reply. It is not water proof but a pouch was included at the price of €59. The stockist (a friend) liked it better than the other (bigger model) and had the same features. The reply poster said the pouch didn´t last long, but liked the radio. The make is well thought of in none marine circles.
