Those of you who use a windows PC with charting and GPS will recognise the problem.
This is where the PC thinks the serial data from your GPS is a ballpoint mouse (a clip on cursor device long since replaced by trackpads etc.)
This causes your cursor to jump about all over the screen making it unuasable.
Drove me mad trying to get my system to work.
I am preparing a laptop to see on these very forums , complete with charting and GPS and came across this useful little utility to switch it off and on.

Switching it off sometimes stops a plug in mouse working but you only have switch it on and back off again and all is well.
