I am looking to purchase an MG Spring 25 (1987) which has had the mast modified (strengthened near the spreaders) but does not appear to have had the chain plate or mast support modified (based on pictures of MG's that have had the mods). This boat has a recent structural survey which shows that there are no problems near the chain plates or masts, so:

1) How essential are these mods?
2) Is this an easy modification, and idea on the possible cost?

Thanks,

Mark

Apart from the mast, and to be honest it wouldnt still be up if it wasnt modified, there is no need to modify anything unless problems occure. Lots of springs out there have had no problems at all and it shouldnt stop you buying one of these fatastic boats.
