Method of Folding Steaming Light Pole Forward

I am taking my boat on to the inland waterways and require a method to adapt my central fixed steaming light pole so it can collapse forward to go under low bridges. Can any forum members please advise on a system. All present fitments are stainless steel.

How about adding a pivot at the point you want it hinge ( canopy hinge ) and using a sliding tube over the outside to hold it rigid - guess you will need a collar or something below the hinge to stop the sliding tube falling too far below the hinge - just lift the tube up to bend it forward -thinking about it, this will be as strong as the original tube
