Met Office - new map formats ?

Looks a great deal better, and easy to select the data you want to view.

Will they do anything with it though?

But desparately slow to download. When will people realise that we aren't all on superquick 20MB broadband - particularly when at sea

I agree - but did you use the feedback option on the site to give this feedback ? I did.

Also previously dropped a note to them reminding that many of us need to find weather info when out and about - using slow lines and smaller screen sizes. Some recent changes had made it difficult to find the actual weather content on a mobile or netbook, in amongst all the other clutter - which probably looks great to a web designed on a large office based screen but frustrating on other devices

Some great stuff though, and worth encouraging

I can tell y'all that the guy behind the 'web-enabled' innovations is a relative 'newbie' at UK MET O Exeter, and is still earning his spurs. He's keen to know what we want, like, and find useful - so he can do more of that, and confirm the best-received bits for the future.

Their webpages ask for feedback about 'Invent', so may I recommend that we all make some constructive input? It's certainly in our interests.....

:)

....Edit: This place is gettin' like a WI Spellin' Bee.... Mutter, mutter!

I beg your Ladyship's pardon. I would not wish her otherwise flawless knowledge of the our glorious country's service sector acronyms to be brought to public knowledge by a minor geographical error. ;)

I do concur with her expressed views that we should feed back to the Met Office our collective views on their cartological progress.

Very impressed and did`nt find it slow to download although thanks to the wonders of BT I`m running on steam @ 1MB at the moment - must be the snow!
