... one Allegro and family, on Easter Monday at the marina. He was one of several who took the trouble to give me sound advice (photos too) about a new (to me) anchorage at the start of last season and I've been keeping an eye out for him ever since to thank him in person.

The thing I find difficult to understand is that he seemed like a nice, normal kind of a guy with a lovely wife and two beautiful children. Maybe I will see if there's a place for me on the Chentleman's Cruise, after all.

.... but the next one might not be so nice...............

Is the meet still on? I'm away until the 20 something, and doubt if theboat will have even touched salt water, let alone sailed to God's country, by then.

I realise it's a long way for you to come, but the Mercury Meet is a great annual gathering of the forumites. Legends such as... as... well, legends such as Kim will probably be there and because he as actually shorter than Jimi, he's not difficult to spot.

No reason to doubt it. It seemed like a well-subscribed event. Where are you Claymore?

Wish I could Stingo but you're right, it's too far. If only the Scottish contingent (that's the ones who still live here) were so organised. If you can believe it, we actually failed to arrange to meet for a drink last month - Scots begob!

I know what you mean, though I wouldn't neccessarily advertise the fact on a public forum.
