I got a text message this morning from a friend in the marina saying he had been to check my boat but it wasn't there, have I had it moved it? The answer was no.

The marina office and the Receptionist at the service company knew nothing about it so I start thinking I need to ring the insurance company. Then get new message that the Engineer had taken the boat to finish a few small jobs.

I was relieved but have to admit the idea of getting a nice cheque and looking through brokers list for next boat did appeal to me for a fleeting moment.

That would surely have spoiled your weekend.......
With Insurance claims, would you have been happy with the payout, I always think that you can never afford to replace like for like, without money changing hands.

Glad its okay, though.

If the worst had happened, would you be looking at boats for here ar the Med???

I had exactly the same thing Martyn - it gave me 30 seconds of panic!! My boat is moored on trots and as such is much more difficult to get at, but nevertheless, there was an empty gap where it should have been. A quick call to the engineer, who was going to do some work later that week, confirmed that he had in fact decided to collect early!!

Phew!

PS - it was during the time last year when the boat was going through its "troublesome" period, so I did kinda wonder about insurance.......
