He's stuck down in Plymouth, has managed to explode his calorifier, is gradually wearing away Muckyfarter with all his polishing, he's all by himself cos Tutts won't join him yet, the weather's crap and he's got a leaky engine.

He's flying 3 of his flags to try and attract attention including his own personalised Muckyfarter one.

He's asked me to post to ask what pressure the header tank caps should be for the TAMD 41 200hp Volvos, cos he's spent all his money on whiskey and loose wimmin and can't afford the Volvo cap so wants to get a non standard replacement. Can anyone help?

He's also upset cos our favourite pub The Borringdon have stopped stocking Canada Dry, he hates the Scweppes version so now has to drink elsewhere.

Could he not put out a Pan Pan, and have an emergency supply of Canada Dry airlifted in by Coastguard helicopter. I'm sure they'd be quite understanding in the circumstances.

Tell him to contact Keypart at Watford - they seem to have all the Volvo specs and equivalents.
I found them really helpful in getting filters biked down to me in St Kats last week - there is now nowhere in London to get replacement filters - all the good chandlers have shut up shop !

I'm stuck at Salcombe in Haydn's crap weather - entertaining sea state on and over the Bar for the last two days, today especially.
Can he please give me the addresses of loose wimmin in Plymouth as it doesn't look as if the next two days will be any better so I might as well drive over.

Wot you mean. Stuck in Salcolmbe?? I went to Salcolmbe on Friday. On my way to Exmouth after getting a superb weather report from LJS's Synclare special confuser. F3 to 4 he said!! So, being stuck then in Salcolmbe, I combed the place for you. Three flags flying. Even the new extra special Mucky Farter edition. Went to Kingsbridge for a bacon butty. Then up that other place and then some where else. Even got Tutts to post a message. Not a soul about, well not flaggy folks anyhow.

Then got proper forcast on Sunday that said crap F6 F7 S Or SW all week, so thought, bugger this for a game of soldiers.

Managed 10 knots over the bar and headed straight into it, got outside Salcolmbe and the sea was humongus, very little white water though, so turned West, stuck the clog down and pressed auto!! Steady 20 knots, with nose trimmed hard down. I had one hand gripping the guard rail and the other clutching the steering wheel for support. Then it pissed down and I was squinting through the rain for dreaded lobster pots, sea broad side on. One minute I was screeming along the top of a wave, then the boat would slide off sideways, lean over about 45 deg and zoom down into the trough before climbing the next one. It did not half feel lonly down in the troughs, all on my own and the sea above the fly bridge!! Then I'd climb to the top and it did not feel to bad, cos then there were one or two other boats about. Apart from the high speed rock and roll, there was no slamming. It was actually good fun when the sun came out again and I'd realised that Mucky could handle that stuff for fun, even on the auto pilot.

Friday am approx 0900 to 1200 down the estuary and playing in the waves between Bolt Hd and Prawle Pt. Strangely enough quite a lot of water came on board at anything above 7/8knts when heading into the seas. Great fun when going with them though. Only small motor boat out there - I wonder why. Able to use the electric bilge pump for the first time when I got back to the flat. Similar escapade on Saturday via diversion up Frogmore Creek and Sunday as well. We must have passed each other in the troughs. Was intending to go to Dartmouth on Sunday am. but decided that coming back would be a right pain in the bum at 7/8knts and I might have missed the tide to get up to the top of the estuary.
If you went up to Kingsbridge on or just after HW I would have been at sea. Where did you stop over in Salcombe ?
Your run back to Plymouth sounds fun - just shows that "size does matter"
I saw no burgees all week/forums/images/icons/frown.gif
