Oi, Dave!

This was meant to be a PM, but your box is full, or otherwise unobtainable. So, this is what I wrote, and maybe it's a bit more forthright than usual.

"Wait till the better (sailing) weather, and poke your head round the door again - it's always like this at this time of year - stupid and boring and irritating and all the rest.

I try and ignore most of it, but at least I end up knowing more what individual people are like and who I'd want as a friend... so it does serve a purpose.

Wait till they've all gone off boating - I think it's a build up of testosterone, myself!

Dont you DARE vanish without telling me!

Susy xxx"

Wouldn't dare do that Susy /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
For some reason, this winter is about the worse I've seen so far, and I'm not sure I want to see much more of it for a while. I'll still poke my nose in on here, but I think this forum is more likely to remain civilised than elsewhere. Possibly because those on here know that there is a good chance that they'll meet the others, or already have done, who knows. But some of the attitudes elsewhere are a tad worrying, so I'll hide in here for now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That Suzy is a nice girl but she's wrong this time. There is no testosterone in arseholes.Dave I don't post much but do watch mostly and your posts re the Norfolk coast were particularly interesting.Speaking as a boy born in Kings Lynn, school in Wells and Fakenham and first job on a farm in Blakeney,I have always wanted to sail back there.Keep in touch please.there are plenty of people around who value genuine, interesting posts.

Hi Bill
Many thanks for the vote of confidence, most on here just take the pish /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I do try to be helpful where I can, but I also enjoy a good laugh, and the 'lounge' is my normal hangout for that purpose. My knowledge is quite limited really so I tend to read more than post in the other areas, but the behaviour in there lately forced myself, and a few others (judging by telephone conversations over the weekend) to withdraw from it. Down here they tend to be of the more freindly type, and some even have a sense of humour, which suits me because that is a very important part of my life (I'm no comedian, but sometimes it seems that way /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ) and it's a much nicer atmosphere because of it.
Thanks again, and why not join in here ?, the banter that goes on is never done to exclude anyone and I hope you (and others) don't feel that it is /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hello Dave,I do sometimes join in but mostly don't bother, too lazy I guess! At least that way no-ones gets to me.Anyway I can't really type,my hands aren't designed to handle anything smaller than a bale of straw!I am determined to do the N.Norfolk harbours sometime though so lets keep in touch.PM me by all means if you wish.

I'll drop a PM in your box and look forward to meeting sometime. Not sure about plans at the moment, but possibly sailing to Wells next weekend, weather permitting.
