is next week, starting with the Dabchicks SC regatta on Sunday 19th and then carrying on until the West Mersea YC regatta on Friday 24th.

Then it's the famous West Mersea Town Regatta on Saturday 25th, with the normal 'grand fireworks display' at dusk, after the prizegiving. Donations in the 'fireworks collection buckets' are always welcome!

This year the WMYC Round the Island Race is on the Tuesday, due to the tides. High Water is approx 3.30 pm so the boats will be crossing the Strood from about 2.30 until 4.00 or so - be prepared for some delays in driving over the Strood onto the island ( a 5.5 meter tide is predicted so it is likely that the water will be across the Strood anyway).

West Mersea will be very busy next week and whilst visitors are always welcome, with race boats visiting it is likely that moorings will be in short supply, the Clubs will be busy and so on. There'll be a great atmosphere but please be aware that the whole area will be much busier than normal.
