Hi all
This is my first post so be gentle, I am considering buying a 2007 Jeanneau Merry fisher 625 without an outboard,
I have a 2001 135hp mercury saltwater optimax with very low hours to fit to this boat, but all the other boats for sale have a maximum 115hp fitted, what would be the implications of fitting a 135hp to this boat and are there any upgrades/improvements I could do to make fitting this engine this possible.

Welcome to the forum! The main issue will be insurance. If the boat is not rated to 135HP (check the manufacturers spec) you won't get insurance on it because the transom is not strong enough to take the extra forces. If it is rated to 135HP you are laughing.

As Salar says, Insurance will be the main challenge. I owned an MF625 for a while and they go really well with a 115 and imho wouldn't be overpowered with a 135 but from memory 115 is their maximum rated HP.
Worth a phone call to your insurer to check.
