mercury overheat alarm update

Ref: Mercury overheat alarm, previously posted.
I have checked temperature and oil sensors. Both are ok ( open circuit). Alarm still continuous.
Would seem to be the electronic control unit has failed.
Local dealer suggesting £70+ and not in stock.

Any suggestions for fast service and good value. N.B. I live on the Isle of Wight!!

if £70 is unacceptable, some people disconnect the unit and wire the buzzer to sound with either low oil or temp....or even fit 2 buzzers, or warning lamps.....

maybe ask your local, friendly(?) outboard mechanic.
