Following the success of previous Mercury meets, May 9/10 has been provisionally selected for another this year. Previous attendees know the format, however for those who have not attended before:
The location is Mercury Marina on the Hamble near Southampton.
Previous meets have had up to 160 people, and 40 boats (though you can come by car). If we follow the previous formats, we have a large marquee, and optionally a second marquee for catering, depending on numbers. It's a hot sit down buffet, and clothing is casual.
Previously cost per head was £20, with free berthing. However that was with substantial sponsorship and reduced rate marquee hire and catering. In the present economic climate, this is unlikely to be the case, and cost per head will undoubtedly be higher, though cost is unknown until more quotes have been obtained, and dates finalised.
