First time I’ve taken the boat out and after an hour of running at different speeds the alarm sounded when I gave it more throttle. Thought it had overheated but water pumping fine . I was told it could be oil level sensor faulty ,( had plenty oil in tank) and scrolling the mode button on gauge also confirmed 100% oil ,anyone have ideas what I can do? Is there any other reason why the alarm would go off ? Any comments greatly appreciated

It likely won’t be the exact same model but if I remember correctly the sound form oil and overheat is different - I *think* oil is beep-beep-beep-… and temp is beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…..

If the oil was below about 1/3rd I could get it to alarm on shallow drive - or in particular trim wave combos when the tank was basically tilted. The magnets on the oil tank sensor do have a reputation for falling off.

I wouldn’t rule out overheating though - especially if this is a new to you engine. It will pump water out the telltale even if the thermostat isn’t open.

Many thanks for your input I will see what happens when I first start up re sound form.If there is a overheat problem I assume when first starting if the buzzer goes off straight away it might not be that hopefully?
