Mercury 2.2hp 2stroke

Hi,
I have an old Mercury 2.2hp 2stroke which needs a head gasket. My problem is trying to locate one as it looks like they're no longer made for this old motor, so, can anyone give me some tips on making my own, ie., material to use, thickness, will I also need a sealant on the gasket?

You dont quote the serial number but head gaskets for models from 1984 onwards appear to be available.

Have you specifically asked your Mercury dealer, quoting the serial number

Given that many of these small O/bds are often from one brand and rebadged - once that is known - the possible number of sources increases ..
