Hi all, i have a problem..the throttle and cables have had it and want to replace them.
the engine is a mercruiser 200hp 89' inboard .........now, can i use any throttle as long as it has tilt n trim on it or do i have to use a mercruiser one /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You can use any Throttle with or without trim/tilt switch.
There are units for trim/tilt that can be mounted on a stalk system below the seering wheel or a toggle switch mounted on the panel so you are not limited to just units with trim/tilt built in.
There are kits available to convert different cables to different control units and engines.

You don't have to use a mercruiser one, nor do you even need trim and tilt - easy to wire that to a separate switch which will be cheaper.

You need to know top mount or side mount or you'll be doing a lot of hole repairs.

Take a look here. The teleflex morse range is a good place to start.

You'll find them on ebay too.
