Mercruiser V6 MPI problems - help!

Hello - can anyone help - this is a long shot i think - I recently bough a Mercruiser V6 MPI with Alpha Drive and I had to replace distributor....

The problem I have is that on the housing there is a connector but I have no wire to connect to it and wondering what its for - I think it may be for a Hall effect Sensor but have no idea...

Any advice greatly appreciated

Have you got the manual for the engine:

Is it the 'female end of a deutsch style plug' you are referring to?

If memory serves me correctly, nothing does plug into it.
