Mercruiser Mechanic Near Gosport

Hi all,

New forum member and also new to boating after getting the water bug from my parents river cruising as a child. I've recently purchased a new to me Monteray with a Mercruiser petrol engine, I wondered if anyone could recommend a trusted mechanic in the Gosport area? We don't have any issues currently but I'm mindful of building a relationship with a reliable person for when we do/winter arrives and it's service time. I always go on personal recommendation so wondered if anyone could steer me in the right direction?

I've had experience of most of the local Mercruiser specialists. Let's just say that in the end the firm that did by far the best work on my Mercruiser V8 was JJB Marine in Exmouth. 01395 227914 if you're interested.
Their engineer has, I think, some connection with Gosport - but anyhow he serviced my boat (at Southampton) with no additional travel costs by fitting it in with his other commitments.
No connection with the firm except as a customer, but they seemed to be able to apply intelligence to expertise to do a really good job.
