Mercruiser alignment tool need in gloucestershire!

After much hardwork in changing the timing cover on my 3.0 merc i now require a Alignment tool to complete the job,

A long shot i know but does anyone have one or knows where i can rent one in or around gloucestershire, uk?

Funny that, I just googled places in glos and gave hime a call... Says he dosnt have one! Nice guy tho, Gave me a number for Mercruiser dealers in worcester... Still no cigar tho

I have one but am based in Milton Keynes.. got mine cheap off Ebay, they may still do them.

Bit far that, just got the dimensions from google, My bro is an engineer, hes gunna see if he can make me one on monday!

That will be Marine Performance at Upton Marina. I doubt if they will loan out their tools though.

get yourself the gasket set too,gear lube and pump as it has to be filled from the lower screw if you lose lube.all are available on ebay.here;

Just had rear end of to replace tilt and trim sensors... new gaskets etc been done.. won't do no harm removing drive and using old gaskets!

One mercruiser alignment tool, made to perfection by my brother... And of course with my failed attempt to lend one this one will be available for anyone in gloucestershire to use if required!!

Engine now aligned! just hope after all this work i have put it all back together properly!!

glad its all sorted and the alignment tool hopefully saved you from grief further down the line.Was it out or was you lucky first time?
Now go boating and at least you know with confidance your engine/drive is aligned.

It was out by quite a lot, I'd say the engine needed to move around 5mm... painstaking job but as you say I shouldn't need to worry now
