Hi fellas, anyone know where the fuel pump is located on this beast? I'm putting the FloScan in at the moment and want to check that the sensor is below the pump...I'm not at the boat atm and wondered if anyone knew, or had a photo of where it is?

Cheers

The fuel pump is low down on then port side or starboard side (depending on the model) of the block behind the engine mount, behind a plastic cover along with the fuel cooler.
If you put the sensor in the flexible hose between the tank and engine it will work fine, I did it on my V8 and mounted the sensor on the bulkhead and rerouted the hose to the motor.

The guys at FloScan say it has to be a couple of inches below the pump, that's my only worry. I've put it in already and kinked the old hose so it made the engine hunt and the sensor didn't registor anything, so I took it out again. I was going to bite the bullet and cut through the old hose just after it comes out of the water separator and put some extra hose in and connect it with a 1/4 inch barb to barb brass connector.

I'm just worried now that the pump is lower than the darn sensor! Never simple is it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks for the reply Spannerman. Do you know if your sensor is below the pump?

Good luck you have to be made out of rubber to work down there the pump is very low down,if it has to be lower than the pump you may be better taking the pump off so you can work with hose to it.

Or, in the case of my boat last month, when the pump fails the engine has to come out to change the bloody thing /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
