I have a Mercedes 314 engine which has been marinised by Bowman.I have read about the importance of engine anodes but I'm *$!*% if I can find any on this engine. Help please.
There won't be any. A pound to a pinch of snuff it's running a heat exchanger (Bowman's main business) and runs fresh water around the block and salt through the exchanger to take the heat away...
we hAD (on our previous boat) OM314 engines with bowman heat exchangers, no anodes. very needful to run with correct strength antfreeze for anticorrosive propities , other wise a white gel like corrosion occurs in the heat exchanger, between the tubes and wall. we in fact had the first british marinised pair, and had the fun of seeing our port engine on the MB stand in 1970 ! was 13 at the time.
