Hi,
I have just started using the abovd and would appreciate any tips about how to get the most out of it.
I find the website faq's not a lot of use, one thing I've noticed is I sail of the page!
Surely it should refresh onto the position without my having to drag the screen.

I found it's best aspect to be the ability to print really nice charts onto paper...

When we did a Scilly trip a couple of years ago I bought an A3 spiral bound hardback art book from WH Smiths, then printed the full set of charts for the passage thereon, with the intended route marked.

Subsequently I had none of the usual compunction not to draw the actual course on said charts, but also leaving a very nice memento of the trip. Much better than just a standard logbook...

I've used Map for some years after using Transas Tsunamis (no new charts) and Imray (small expensive areas and odd colours) Mmap, as said, does print charts well on my bleeding (borderless) A3 printer. But no, it does not auto move your position onto new charts Are you using it on a laptop or an Android tablet? I use both and I've learnt how to transfer routes between (see recent thread of mine here) The tablet uses 25% of the power of the laptop so I usually plot on the laptop, transfer the route to the Garmin and NASA repeater, drop box the .GPX to the tablet and put the laptop away. The tablet gets clamped in its stand to the saloon table and I have just bought a bluetooth mouse to cordlessly drive it from the cockpit.

Thanks guys.
I'm glad it's not just me then.
I use MM on my tablet and laptop, but only take the tablet to the boat.
I haven't tried routes and stuff yet.

Hi,I use MM on both android tablet and laptop and I find that it locks on to your position fine on the tablet and scrolls the chart. Sometimes it fails to open a new chart when it scrolls off the edge but a tap on the blank bit opens it.

I cannot comment on the laptop as it died before I could try it.
