Well it's taken a lot of hard work but we have finally reached the point where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, for a start we no longer have huge holes in the hull nor foredeck.
This pic was taken a while back

and this one was taken over the weekend

So we are slowly getting there, and hope to launch within the month. When I get time I'll do a slide show of all the disasters we've got through, and when we decide a launch date we will have a renaming ceremony at the launch site (to be decided) and hope a few will be able to come and help us celebrate /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Sixpence, may all enjoy a drink aboard at some time in the near future

The Lady Louise has decided 5 beers and then falling down juice and for Douggie 5 bottles /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Cheers Once again Joe

To be kept"in a cool,dark and DRY place" /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Cheers Joe

Nice one D, major respect for what has been a gruelling task from day one, really nice to see it come out the other side, can;t wait for pictures of the interior when you finally release them /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

One question though, does that numberplate say F 4 4 R C ? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Having popped over to the home of Sixpence last night to undertake a personal inspection, I can only compliment Dave on the job he has done.....

It is hard to believe that it is the same boat as the one I saw all that time ago... I did at the time take a quiet gulp, and think... "uh oh"..

But Dave.... you've done a lovely job of her, and she's going to be a little cracker...

A Very Well Done Dave ( for a Sparkie, so you can fit yer own nogging then ).
Sixpence looks a Million to me she will turn a few heads
Happy Daze

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks Roger, maybe if she turns a few heads people won't notice the idiot at the tiller /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Sorry Dave, don't believe you. Think you must have spent more than sixpence on her. The masking tape for the boot top would have cost more than that. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Looking forward to hearing a report on the maiden voyage. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Looking forward to the maiden voyage with what I have to admit is a touch of nerves, mixed in with excitement, but when we get there I have a feeling we are going to love it

[ QUOTE ]
Well done Dave - look forward to meeting her in person and toasting your success /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks Roger, with luck we will enjoy a few glasses together in the not too distant future

[ QUOTE ]
Well done, what a lot of work to get there.

When you are sitting onboard, drink in hand watching the sun going down after that perfect day's sailing you will know it was worth it.

PS Glad you didn't go with one of those other names /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Louise has these daft ideas sometimes (ouch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) but even I couldn't believe the way she was treated by some. Ho hum, you can't win them all /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Looking good /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Fair winds and happy sailing

[/ QUOTE ]

Many thanks, and I look forward to doing just that

[ QUOTE ]
Well Done Dave, Sixpence is a very nice name.
I would have called it Folly myself, but Hey!

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks Jim, but one or two advantages to the name. One is that once I can reproduce the emblem from the back of a sixpence, I have an instant motif for her, the other is that according to Sarabande, it is a tradition to place a coin below the mast when it's raised, so we know which coin to use straight away (guess who's shopping /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif )

Thanks Neil, and also for the advice. Have now found a way to mount the chart plotter where you said, but on a swivel mounting that keeps it almost flush with the surface but allows it to rotate through 180 degrees, so that should make life easier /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi Dave.
A super job well done more comments elsewhere. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Cheers and all the best David.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks David, I'll let everyone know when she's going in but if you can make it over for the launch it would be good to see you again

[ QUOTE ]
She's looking really really good Dave, you must be a happy man !

[/ QUOTE ]

Cheers Alan, must admit I am a lot happier now than I have been during parts of the works, but I should point out that others also helped /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
