Pleased meet a couple of adventurous Thames boaters at the RCC BBQ last night. The boat,a single engined 23ft Seasaga,is usually moored on an island at Kingston. ?
Wishing to expand their horizons, they decided to head off to the uncharted wilds of the River Medway and bravely set off into the unknown into the land of esturary english and fender stealers.
Totally unaware that several of the invading RCC fleet were returning home on that very day, while approaching the barrier, they found themselves mixed up with lot of other boats heading outbound and sort of asked if they could pass though with the other boats in the area.
Shortly afterwards the crew on the Seasaga thought it might be good Idea to arrange some moorings and rung the RCC clubhouse, where the phone was answered by our club steward, who replied "Sorry,no one here at the moment, they are all up the Thames but can give our mooring masters mobile number" which they duely rung.
Not sure of the exact course of events but presumably Gary our mooring master said H,mm that must be you over there , stay with us until we get back to base.
Their next big adventure will be going up to Maidstone in couple of days time.
