Medway in flames

A few snaps from yesterday, I think the crews felt as if they were on flames at times with it being the hottest day of the Year so far!
Great day out, and very impressed with the holding power of my humble danforth as we ended up with a boat rafted either side to watch the fireworks.
The coasters arriving & departing caused some entertainment, but probably not for the frazzled looking harbormasters frantically trying to clear a path for them!

Well, the bilges have been cleaned out again!
Oh, and the fuel pipe coming off seems to have been down to operator error, and a misunderstanding of how the return pipe valves actually work...

Previous owner of my boat obviously was totally unaware that bilges are ...

A. Not purely somewhere to store all your old oil/diesel when changing filters
and
B. are supposed to be pumped out at least once during ownership of the boat.

The engine bilges were filthy and disgusting.Several old oil soaking up thingies in there along assorted rags and other debris Aft bilge was virtually full up to the lazerette floor level and looked as though it had not been emptied for years.Must have been half a ton of water in there !
Stick a bolt of lightening through there and you could have created life.
