Make sure you get any insurance confirmed in writing & then call them to recondirm (they record all calls for future disputes).
I am still talking to Nationwide/UKI about my 'lack of cover' for trips to the US, even though I had shedules stating I was covered, plus ringing them up a few weeks beforehand advising them of any medical updates, queationing them about cover should I take a trip to Hawaii whilst in mainland US (cover only exists if trips originate in UK). They were aware I was travelling, but failed to tell me I was not covered.

EHIC fine, just remember to carry the card. Save up for medical insurance next time when we have another benefit of Brexit.

If the UK comes out of the EHIC scheme, not sure what will happen with private insurance. It seems most cover taken out recently doesn't include Covid and the cost of treatment could be crippling if not impossible for many to fund. One of the benefits of having residence in another State is their EHIC.
