Well after the last 2 crappy years of weather here, have decided to take the boat to the med.
Although we have done some good trips Paris, Holland, all along the west coast.
time to move on, so its boat out the water on the 28th, wrapped on the 9th June loaded onto lorry 10th June then off to Alicante.

Cool! Good choice :D, Alicante is a gorgeous city with a great nightlife in the old town. I will be there myself next weekend.

good luck with the delivery. they are very helpful at Alicante Marina.
what's the name of your boat - we'll wave if we see you out and about

Med

And with out been rude what sort of coatings ?
Good luck with everything.

Security is great has a full time security, cant got onto the pontoons without going past them, our boat is called summer dream, we will be on birth F11.
Not sure what you mean by coating? or do you mean costings.

The marina cost are a lot less than here and price includes water and electric and they have TV conections on all the births. mooring is £500 less than we pay now. transporting the boat is costing 4.7k that includes lift off the lorry, removing wrapping and a full clean and polish, lift into the water.

Congratulations and good luck, thinking of doing the same, or at least somewhere in the med, what made you choose aLicante?

We looked at a lot of marinas, the main problem was travel time from the airport. The things we liked about alicante was the security first class, has normal pontoons had all sizes of births from 8 mtrs up. was cheaper than what we are paying now and best of all is only a 15 minute bus ride from the airport and buses run every 20 minutes.

hi there

we have a berth in Alicante marina 12m by 4.8 with side pontoon near the shower block.
also 15min away from Alicante airport.
the berth is for sale

Well every thing went like clockwork, Boat arrived safely, holding tank fitted, spend last week testing the waters and to see if we made the right choice, I can now say YESSSSSS, wish we done it years ago.
Looking forward to a lot of happy weeks in the med.

You heard about the flies an midges and creepy crawlies that bight?
The way the winds come up with no advanced warning down there?
The problems getting a mechanic that is awake between 11.00 hours and 16.00 hours?
They are all off during the weekends as well!
The Med will eat away at yer outdrives and shafts like you would never believe
The Spanish and all of em are just after yer roubles the taxes are horrendous
Then there is all the waitin and garbage at airports and getting ripped off by taxi drivers and all that there
Bad Move sealine
Oh!, I have a M8 in Alicante!
He can 'smooth over' the Local 'maffiosso' and the Gaurdiniers- yer gorra watch them!
Enjoy
Cheers

lol

Thought about all that, We have a mechanic who worked for sealine. Now works for sealine costa blanca, he did my holding tank, quotes here was over 2k he did it for £680 all in. Alicante airport is 20 mins bus ride from airport to marina and cost 3 euro's. birth is over £500 cheaper. A good proven method for getting rid of the nidges etc. cut a lime in half poke in a few cloves in, works a treat and smells good, Not sure about the drives, time will tell.

Hi there
