Hi Martyn,
We are indeed on the same Jetty. I am up there every weekend wasting as much fuel as I can on a ten mile lake. Did you lend your boat out to some friends last week end? I was the guy who tried to help them sort out the electrical failure.
Any way I used to tow my boat to the Med for the summer with my brother (Charlotte Jade 2) Same Jetty near end, also dad (Calypso, raggie boat same jetty). Lots of great stories, learnt a lot as well (Good and Bad). Then company banned 4x4s so got a normal estate and upgraded boat. Still miss the trailing but it's only for 15months....
Cal'N'Bosch is about a third cheaper than Mahon. There is a good set of toilets and showers, however only open during office hours and up to 9pm in the Season. You can also use all the bars toilets though. Pop around and have a chat. I have a nice selection of cheap French wine and dumpies always available from my travels. If you are very lucky I have some nice Polish Vodka that I regularly replenish. All other users always welcome.
I hopped a 21 1/2 foot boat from Barcelona to Menorca in 2001. If I still own my current boat then I have had a quote to transport it to South of France in March 2005. I will then hop it down to Alicante area by having a lads week. I provide fuel and a lumpy bed, they provide Beer for overnight stops. With the current up take may need a Predator 75 to fit all on board.
