Just returned from a good 2 wek charter in Majorca, In common witrh previous experiences the yacht was low on safety equipment, although chartered through a reputable ageny.
We had to ask for lifejackets and were given the aircraft type buoyancy aids still wrapped in poly bags. What did previous charteres have? These were essential for some of our evening dinghy returns in dark. No decent torch, no jackstays or anchorpoints for harness, harnesses supplied were not very good. Lifering on a bit of poly line, Ok i suppose, MOB floating light kept below with bulb loosened , fire extinguishers loose in lockers etc
We did experience some poor weather, what happens in bad weather i wondered.
Or are we too well looked after on UK charters?

Never had problem with lifejackets.
Always thought the horseshoes were a bit crap on most of the boats. Harnesses always been fine too with adequate points.
The torches are always hopeless so i take my own. i would not have accepted the jackets you were given.
i have noticed that that the anchor ball was usually still in its wrapper and that the motoring cone was always in its wrapper.

I have to say we usually did not need the torch for the dinghy returns mainly because in vitryally every bay we were the only one with an anchor light on. thank god it did make it easier in san antonio bay.

what did you think to majorca? did you get to formenera?

Beer! Now there's a temporary solution.
