I agree. I have the second edition on my boat. It is the most used book in my library. He seems to have thoroughly researched every topic .... but I suspect the newer editions are even better.
His book on refrigeration is excellent to for us who have heavy equipment like Glacier Bay's ..... but I borrowed one. Wish I had one in my library though.
If anyone askes me how to fix something on their boats, I usually refer them to the Nigel Calder's book so they know how to fix it for themselves.

Never set sail without Nigel on board. Both his Mechanical and Electrical book and the cruising manual are key items in our inventory. Neville Featherstone's giant tome fills in any remaining boating knowledge gaps
