I wondered if anyone knew of some accurate measurements or drawings for a modern Honda long shaft 15hp

manual start

does anyone have one around their shed/garage that they could take some snaps with a tape measure up against it?

this is the one I want measurements for

What exactly do you need Dylan? I'll see if I can pull it out of the Honda system...

this is the BF10 in position

I need the dimensions of the 16 engine at the point it passes through the cockpit floor and the point at which it passes out the bottom of the hull

I plan to drop it in at right angles until the tplate passes through the hull and then rotate it to be in line

the well will be a slot that is slightly wider than it is long

I have seen a Hurley with the same arrangement

Couldn't pull anything out of the online system Dylan. However, I may be down with the mechanic today on a boat installation - I suspect there will be a page in the workshop manual with these dimensions - unfortunately i'm on my own on the desk at GF today so very little time to do any researchy things, but if I can grab and photocopy quickly I will grab it for you...

EDIT : Hold that thought, the mechanic is going to pop up and show me where I can access the workshop manuals online....stand by... ;)

I will make up a well template out of thin ply and take it to an outboard

It strikes me that there's not going to be much room for your crew and dogs.

Are you suggesting using the engine compartment as a dog kennel?

you know I had not really thought of that - but by jingo you are correct

I shall start feeding Maggie Up to help bring the boat back to her lines after removing the 250kg engine

I shall just go and give her the good news that she will be on ad-lib "Yummie Chops" from here on in

Oh hello - she is now sitting beside the desk looking expectantly at me with those soft brown eyes

she must know what I have just written
