Unfortunatly, despite BrendanS's efforts, the original planned MDL gatering on the Hamble has been cancelled due poor attendence/interest.

If anyone fancies an UNOFFICIAL gathering that weekend, I have contracted Phil, the harbourmaster at the Folly, who will protect a number of berths on the Pontoon if we can confirm numbers by Tuesday 18th inst.

So if you are still interested in putting a few faces to names that weekend Register your interest, boat name, length here, and I will arrange the berths. (Normal mooring rates will apply).

Thanks for the vote of confidence ! LOL.

Yes, this could be a dead duck, however, there were a number of boats going to attend the MDL event, which has been cancelled, and if they were now at a loose end as a result, then perhaps they will welcome an alternative.

If not, no worries.

I've tried twice - Drinks on the Tamar drew my party plus two others who live in walking distance of the pub. Proposed West Country rally has 5 maybes. I will do my own thing and just announce where I'll be flying the gin pennant for those who care to join me.

We've had loads of successful ones. The previous two mercury meets well over 100 people and 40 odd boats each year. The annual Poole and Wareham meets are popular and well attended. They can and do work, very well. Mecury Meet is going to be reorganised later in year, as quite a few people couldn't make the May date

Wasn't the Weymouth weekend a success last year? I wanted to go but was unable to at the time. I thought there may have been some interest in going there again?

Regards.

Peter.

I can make it that weekend.
Will have 2 spare berths, as I will be singled handed.
Boat is a Westerly Konsort (Karis) moored in Southsea marina, Langstone harbour.
Will it be the shore or the river pontoon at the Folly?

Geoff: It'll be the mid stream pontoon.. According to Phil, (the Folly Reach Harbour Master) Chichester yacht Club have bagged the Folly 'Hammerhead' already.

Regds Nick.
