Having arrived for a brief 10 day visit and having missed our March trip and booked lift and scrub due to business commitments. I must say I was really pleased with the service I received from MDL this week.

It was a rush to get out, so I had only requested a lift and scrub a few days before departure, this is a busy time of year for the boatyard, so I was told as expected they were fully booked, but could slot me in around the 25
th April. However, they said they would let me know if they received a cancellation or could slot me in, just two days after I arrived, I received a call at 09:30 saying they could fit me in over lunch at 12:30 – so all done and dusted in just 40 mins!

This enabled a quick run out into the lagoon, drop thehook, drinks and a lovely 'Paella Para Quartro' lunch in Xiringuito’s restaurant on stilts, thatopened for the season this weekend, a thoruoghly enjoyable day. I love this time of year, what's more, nota single mozzie in site all week….! Well done MDL......

We are a bit late this year.
Our lift is booked for the 8th May.
Blocking off to polish the props and in case anything else needs doing.
Relaunch is scheduled for the end of that week but usually Tomasz will put us back in earlier if we are ready.

Yes, Peter, Tomasz was trained at Hamble point - but he knows how a yard should be run - none of those awful wooden post supports that you see in most of the UK boatyards.
All his supports are purpose made and boats are always strapped down to anchor points in the concrete.

Hi Peter/Mike
Lovely weather here again today, so we popped up, with two other crews, to the Font de Sant Pere restaurant for lunch and the dam thereafter which looked great and almost full, some beautiful scenery around there. I really don't know how they do it, very good wholesome food, three courses, all the usual accouterments plus as much wine and coffee as you like, renewed without request, with a 13 euro tip, cost us just 15 euros a head.

Sadly Lester's mother died recently, so he may not be out for a few weeks, but Barry (Medskipper) and Matt are out next week.

Thomasz has been out here now for some time as you know, he has always been very helpful on occasion(s) when I needed to use the boatyard services.

What made this trip most enjoyable, was the start, we bumped into our eldest son now living with his family in Gozo at Luton airport on the way out, he only came over for a quick one day stop to attend a business meeting in Hemel but was duly reprimanded by his mum, for not telling her, busted, cost him a 16 year old Lagavulin in duty free..!
