In Ocean Village at the moment and have been trying to hook up to their WIFI, it's like pulling teeth (again), akin to being on an old modem dial up service.. have resorted to using the phone as a hotspot to get online (again). sort it out MDL, if you're going to advertise this as a benefit to berth holders, make sure it works :(

If it's any consolation Gary...it's the same with Premiers wifi at Swanwick. Very rarely can I get a connection and when I do, it's painfully slow then just drops out. I use my phone as the hotspot too but data useage is huge.

I think this a bit of a theme with marina wifi - rarely have I found one that is reliable and fast. Surely in this day and age this shouldnt be the case.

It's not rocket science. The largest stumbling block is the speed of the ASDL into the site in the first place. If everyone was just browsing/reading forums etc then it would prob. Be fine. It all goes wrong when watch iplayer, downloading films etc if the 'input' speed is only mediocre.

At mercury I find it ok, but I'm only reading emails etc, not downloading films or the like. Connection is ok, issue I have is my phone remembers it most if the time, then I go to use it again and it's suddenly on 3G again.

It's not an ideal science. Only answer is 4G, then you don't worry about wifi.

The marina wi-fi is more shy-fi at Swanwick although Martin did say Premier were trialling a new provider which will provide an element of free access for berth holders.

The great thing about being on E pontoon is that you can always connect to 'Lisa's iphone' free of charge

Not quite what was said in December!!!!!!

Still not live in Chi;
this link should take you to the landing page - not all links work yet

As an aside if you're in Birdham Pool (their Inet hasn't worked for over a week) or Chi and you need access then the Boat House cafe has free wifi which works well.

we are with them in Weymouth and I don't think its very good at all I gave up like gary and tether to my phone, we bought a smart tv when they told us this new system was going in so we could watch iplayer etc etc but we cant use it as the wifi wont run it :(

I think it would be pretty exceptional if a marina operator were to provide sufficient bandwidth to allow their users to stream. It's not what these types of common systems are there for - they are there for such things as e-mail and web browsing.

Does not the original D&R log in page at Weymouth tell you this (as it does at Haslar) ?
