We have a 2030D from -03 with approx 900 hrs on the clock, which is showing a strange behavior after running about 2 hrs. The engine goes down in rev's and stays on idle for a couple of minutes until it stops. Cooling down for half'n hour, it starts again and runs for an additional 2 hours. Both fuel filters new, tank clean and feed fuel pump new. No problem with supply of cool air to the engine, which runs beautifully until the situation occurs. Pipes from the high pressure pump very hot (you'd burn your fingers on them). Could that cause the fuel to evaporate in the pipes and cause air bubbles which block the pipes? Or is it a case of tired high pressure pump?
