Afternoon.
Time to check the rocker clearances, and in preparation have been looking to source the two nitrile seals, 3580316, 3580317.

First, found it quite difficult to source from usual suppliers. Goldenarrow do list them, but at £5 for the small one and £25 for the larger (£30 total Inc postage) seems a bit stiff.
Am I being unreasonable or just out of touch?
Thanks
K

I went to a gasket and seal outlet near me for my Perkins, and the guy found something similar, it's apparently oil and heat resistant and it only cost £1.50
He said it's suitable for rocker gaskets, it's round instead of shaped which shouldn't be a problem hopefully.

£1.50 more my budget! So just a cicle of nitrile the correct length.
I have read its possible to cut and join it with glue, just like the old meccano days.
Thanks

I suspect that the correct size closed cell neoprene round cord is fine for that purpose cut to length and ends joined with Superglue. This is available from amazon. You couldalso obtain an O ring of the orrect size
