Engine running a dream but a bit of a nightmare to get going after it has stood for a while - it looks like the diesel is draining back away from the injector pump (which we have had off and serviced - it was perfect). I can't see any obvious leaks in the pipes- any suggestions?

Engine running a dream but a bit of a nightmare to get going after it has stood for a while - it looks like the diesel is draining back away from the injector pump (which we have had off and serviced - it was perfect). I can't see any obvious leaks in the pipes- any suggestions?

It could be because there is a tiny leak, so small that you don't notice any diesel leaking out but large enough to slowly allow air in and the fuel to drain back to the tank when standing idle for a prolonged period.


Or it could be due to poor compression ????
