I wondered whether there was a maximum or an optimum setting for the revs on this engine. Thanks in anticipation.

I reckon 2600 is the max revs
And 2000 is about optimum for fuel consumption - though this may vary a bit with your setup

According to the operators manual the max revs are 2500.*

There is also a Volvo penta user group which might be of interest

* However you cannot rely on the panel tacho to be correct. Best to check that against a reliable instrument.

We also get best economy at 2000 rpm, with a maximum cruising speed at 2400.

Thanks for all the replies you all sound to be on the same course so I will run with 2500 top end and 2000 economy.
