The manual under starter motor says 1.5kW (2ah). Does this mean that the cranking current will be 125 amps?
The (new) 90 amp BEP vsr battery switch I found under a pile of rubbish in the garage says 275 amps continuous and 1250 cranking. I was contemplating fitting it in place of the old 1,2,both switch. We have 2 x 110 ah batteries.

No, 2 hp (1500 watts) is its mechanical output. Its consumption will be somewhat greater.

With a much larger battery than the max specified there is also potential for higher currents than intended.

However I do not think you are going to even approach 1250 amps when cranking and I doubt if you have electrical equipment that will be drawing 275 amps contiuously. If you have the original alternator the max charging current is only 35 amps IIRC

Take your pick
