MD 2020-oil filler simpl question

Hi, have just run the engines (cat) and I need to know if there should be an 'O' ring fitted to the filler cap. Reason for asking is that i seem to be getting a very fin e leak around the cap, which at present has a rubber 'O' ring and I think that it should NOT have one.

Advice required please.

There should be an O ring seal on the oil filler cap. Part no 861897.

That should stop any leaking if in good condition.

It 'll probably leak if there is no seal !
