Page 55 - Mayflower Marina. Visitors usually put on the outer pontoon. Gets awfully bumpy from wake of passing vessels and open to the W/SW.
Page 59 - R.Yealm. We go on a regular basis and have never had a problem with tidal flow on the downstream pontoon.
Page 68 - Soltrum 24. Where can I buy one? You can't because it's a S a ltram 24. Hull produced by Plymouth Pilots, as mentioned, but most have just a fishing cuddy. They quite often come up for sale in "Find a Fishing Boat" site.
Page 99 - "How about these?" I think you'll find that the Aquador range were originally designed and built in Scandinavia. Some were built in Ireland, for a short period, and had a reputation for not being as well put together as home country examples.

As you can see, I'm bored. Think I'll go and have a game of tennis!!

My last month issue (or was it the previous one?) started at page 33, went to 64, and then started at 33 again! Never did see pages 1 to 32...!

I also found the statement that "a ball is a sign of emergency" (words stated under the pic which had a ball over a square)

Apart from the mistakes already posted I am surprised no one has mentioned about the fact that the Oct magazine is 20 pages less than Septembers, I appreciate it does not have the list of boat specifications in but that is not 20 pages long so where have the remainer gone?

Personally I think its a great mag, they seem to have an almost uncanny ability to anticipate what the next drama I'm going to have with my mobo! And to the forum admins, yes I do read both!

Frustration with the constant spelling mistakes, the endless obsession with all things RIB and the general lack of spark or substantial content that it used to have all drove me to cancel my 3 yr subscription.

I'm now trialling MBY for a year. So far, much better. Better photos, better articles, more to read, certainly more to dream about, though I guess a bit more sober.

A vote with the pocket is the only vote that counts..

Personily i'v neva had an isue wiv speling mistaks (or noticed any!) Maybe it works for me cos I have less extravagent dreams. Also this being my first season all the info I can get is welcome - hence reading both but only have MBM on subscription.

Significantly reduced advertising - a combination of end of season (who'll buy a boat in the next few months?) and recession (who'll buy a boat in the next few months?). If you count up the pages of editorial content I'll bet they are the same as, or similar to, last month. "January" (available December) issue will be big because of LIBS exhibitors advertising.

All imho.

Personally I prefer MBM to MBY. It feels more relevant to me, as I am never going to be into the Custom and Super Yatch market. MBM articles more practical and again relevant.

MBY photo's are nice, but that's it.

Howverm these are personal and subjective preferences, so I will never knock anyone for their choice.

It's a bit like The Times and The Sun. Pictures are better in The Sun, but I get more from reading The Times.

Just to add 2 cents worth.........I enjoy MBM, IMO they set the bench mark for boat reports and articles years ago.

Our local mags are just patronizing rubbish, with a strong focus on food and drink preparation :(
