Well, the boat is all ready to go to Holland with the MBM cruise, but my regular crew can't make it...

So, applications are invited to join me on board, the dates are August 14th to 29th, leaving from and returning to Ramsgate, the boat is a Freeman 32 Mk I, just back from a wonderful three months on the East coast, and the ideal candidate willbe youngish, competent (ideally, Day Skipper or above, but as a minimum some sea time), relaxed and friendly. Your skipper (me) is a 36 year old chap, an aviation professional with a laid back approach and a keen eye to safety. Both sexes welcome to apply... the accomodation is in the V berth in the forecabin, separate from the aft cabin where I shall snooze away..

Interested? PM me and we'll arange to chat by phone...

I should have said, you can post here too, with thoughts or suggestions, otherwise this thread will disappear off the page and I'll be high and dry!

Possible that I can do this. Qualifications not as seemly as some female members, and certainly not youngish anymore. Do enjoy extended cruises though

Youngish?!

He didn't say he wanted someone of pensionable age with a bus pass! We'd all be volunteering if that was the case!

Re: Youngish?!

OK OK!

I may, by now, have given up on finding a supermodel who fancies having a fortnight away from her Benetti 95!

This is all about fun cruising, and being a chap who has some wonderful female friends, applications from ladies are welcome. I also cruise with chaps (no, not THAT definition of 'cruise'!), so they are welcome too.

Age is not a huge deal either, I say again, it's all about fun!

Keep it coming!

Re: Youngish?!

Would have loved to have come, but on this occasion a bit too short notice for me. I am encouraged to see someone posting such a request, though, and hope to be able to make another should the oppurtunity arises. Hope you have a great cruise - enjoy!

Crew still needed!

Thanks... Still no joy though...

Hope you don't mind if I pop it back to the top...?

Re: Crew still needed!

Oh well, one final try to find a willing individual...

If you can help, or you know someone who can, please give it a go! Otherwise, I shall have to cancel the Dutch cruise for definite and tackle taking the boat from the Thames to the Solent single-handed...

Someone must know a student-type, or retired person, or someone who can take some leave at short notice...?

Please PM or post.

Many thanks.

Re: Crew still needed!

...aaah, I phoned and e-mailed them and have had no response. Just called again today. Failing that, I have thought about asking to go as crew on someone else's boat, if they have room... It would be a great shame not to take one's own, though.

Re: Crew still needed!

Yep, I tried that... No reply.

Kim, if you read this (or one of your team does), one of your people would be most welcome - have you had a student on work experience or similar, perhaps, or somebody who has helped out before?

I would be really, really, grateful if someone can help!!!

(I've also tried a couple of sailing schools, UKSA, and elsewhere. Just astonished that there is no-one who wants a great boating experience free of charge!).
