Is any one going on this cruise, at a cost of around £1500 (Boat transport,crane,charts,C-maps,fuel and most important large quantities of Guinness ;-) ) for the weekend I wonder if anyone else is going to be there or will it be Billy no mates for me.

Why the hell is it £1500. It used to cost me about 50 quid in juice from Pwelhi?? to Wicklow then free or 2 quid mooring. What are you doing with the rest??

No one can force me to come here-----------

Must be due to cost of getting boat into ferry. All those cranes etc and then taking out other side and putting back into water afterwards.
Perhaps do bit of scrape and anti foul on way over to save lift out in winter?

And this is summer is it?

Well the boat is next to my business in St Helens so about £100 to get it to Conwy & back, £200 crane in & out ,I've got zip in terms of charts for Irish Sea so about £100 for paper and £200 for Garmin software, It's a petrol so about £300 for fuel and £200 for MBM fees.By my addition that leaves me £400 for some of the black stuff and the odd bacon butty. Hey presto £1500 for a weekend.

Wow that was seriously scary,I wont try working that out again. ( I'm taking it to Menorca for August , but I havent got the guts to work out how much it will cost !!)

Shaun,

We are drilling and installing templates and production trees in 400m of water. The field operator is Exxon Mobil. None of the employment is done locally in Malabo, for the production side I can only suggest that you have a look at the www.exxonmobil.com site and see if there are any suitable vacancies. They have a FPSO and platform here. But hiring would be done via Houston. Gets awfully hot and humid here though, up to about 40C.

Regards

Chris

Thanks Piers, I have been on a couple of MBM trips before with the trailboats, I always enjoy them.

Difference is my boat is usually the biggest on these trips, this time it will probably be the smallest ;-)

Think I will give it a go anyway.
