MBM Cruise - A few thank you\'s

Hugo, Tom, Kim, Neale, Richard and Piers:

Thanks so much for a thoroughly enjoyable week. It was a week of firsts for us, first time across the channel, first time to the channel islands, and the first time we have cruised in company.

Not only has our confidence increased but we have met many new friends - fantastic!

Special thanks to Bob and Carole on Camilla and Jennifer and Stanley on Enfant Gate who helped us through the lumpy bits on the return crossing.

Cheers

Andrew & Julie (Manatee)

Re: Twas a good trip..

By far the funniest event was Hugo's face after he put his foot right in the sticky stuff.

Hugo jumped onto a boat and informed a respectable gentleman that there was a woman on the pontoon looking for him.

' I think it is your wife' Hugo explained.

When the chap's real wife, also on the same boat, mentioned that she didn't know that her husband had another wife, Hugo's face was a picture !!

Now where is that dodgy photo of Hugo with all of those black marks on his face?

Thanks for a great trip.

<hr width=100% size=1>We don't want a sports cruiser, totally impractical. Err ok then.

So that was you! If I had known, I would have bought some of your magic liquid stuff from you!

So how did the photo shoot go - and when is it being published?

- Andrew

PS. Did you ever find out who Manatee was?

Well I did ask you if you signed on the forum nad the 2 bottles of Soltron in my hand might have been a clue. Think I may have got a sign on for manatee with your boat name mixed up but now I know who you are I will come and raid your beer fridge next time your over .

How could it be such fun being holed up in Jersey for a week? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Photo shoot was fun especially in the state I was in, been partying the night before so it will be fun to see what I look like on the pics. trying to do turns around a boat and smile are very hard to combine especially with pots around. Got some good shelter from the wind down near Marble bay so it was flatter. Caught some spray on the way back and got soaked.

Yes, OK - never been known for my observation skills :)

Jersey was fun, would have liked more time to explore Guernsey but weather got the better of us. Didn't realise there was so much rivalry between Jersey and Guernsey folk (something about Donkeys and Frogs I heard).

You certainly live in some nice cruising grounds. We also got soaked on the return crossing - is the Little Russel always that angry?

Cheers

Depends at what state of tide might have been better going round the back of Herm and up that way unless you were going west of Casquets. there is a route closer to Herm that you can take and is calmer as the tide is running.

Next time your over I will show you.

Re: Guernsey Vs jersey

Come on Guernseylad - The Crapeauds are so called because the Isle of Jersey was attached to the mainland of France longer than Guernsey and so TOADS actually migrated there. There are NO toads on Guernsey!!!

By the way it is the 60th aniversary of the Liberation of the Channel Isles next year. Guernsey is renouned for it's celebrations (Crapeauds actually come here to join the fun) and as it is to be the biggest of its kind ever I suggest that you all come over and join the fun. May 9th 2005
