MayDay relay for Twister_Ken

Thank you, The truth at last. there is no reson MoBo's can't slow down except this macho urge to slam the throttles open. If the MoBos kept their speed down to 5 or 6 Knots while in congested areas there would be little need to overtake and far less aggrevation I have read so many posts "we can't go below 10knots" and "handling problems" and my favorite "might cause bigger wake" if 10knt causes a bigger wake then slow down more until you are clear of other water users. Everyone should be able to enjoy the freedom of the "open sea" without endangering others or spoiling their enjoyment.

I own a large planing motor boat and would argue that it is simply not true to say that I have to maintain speed to help control my boat - once above 3 to 4 knots I have control and can quickly stop. At this speed the wash is low.

There is simply no excuse for us motor boaters creating wash problems for you raggies - its just bad behaviour and ignorance full stop.

I have witnessed bad behaviour/ignorance from both raggies and motor boaters - so in the end it is down to the individual not what type of boat they use.

I think some early Fairey speedboats had centreboards, but they quickly abandoned the concept because the slot turned into a fountain at planing speeds.

agree with other posters - no reason why you can't have control at all speeds. Not at all sure why mobos in really congested areas can't come off the plane or stop for a moment - i do.

I will be in and around portsmouth harbour this weekend, and will happily demonstrate full control at under three knots, possibly including pirouetting along the way with alternating clockwise and counterclockwise rotations - whislt not in tthe main channel of course.
