I have acquired this boat but know nothing about it other than the fact is is probably about 10 years old (possibly a little more). Is there anyone that knows some of this history of this model ? How can I identify the year, engine config (I only have very limited access to the boat at the moment). I was hoping to find any sort of owners club or picture gallery to help me identify it. I can trawl through the used ads but any help would be appreciated also any reviews or buyers guide for older models to help assess it's condition would be very much appreciated. It is my intention to use the boat but would like some info before doing so.

Hull number should be on r/h side of transome, first two digits refer to yearof build.Describe engine colour/ No of cyls and location of distributer for engine ident. Bound to be petrol.

Once you've got the serial number, Maxum in the US are v helpful. Just email them from the website (www.maxumboats.com). It would have been imported by Russel Simpson, but they went bust, and were bugger all use anyway...

Remember that Maxum is part of Brunswick, and Windermere Aquatics (the Binliner people) can source spares for Maxums, and are very helpful.

Windermere Aquatic Ltd are dealers for MAXUM. Try them. I have tried a similar approach in the past re a 7 yr old sea ray and their dealer, Marina Marbella were very helpful

Russel Simpson marine are the main importers of Maxum they are still in business . Their main office is in Newhaven sussex also Sovereign Marina Eastbourne. 01273 612612
