Maxsea: Can\'t see, won\'t see.

Just been given a laptop with a copy of Maxsea 10.1.3.2. and have bought a GPS mouse to use it aboard. The GPS works fine with Memory Map and Autoroute and shows scrolling NMEA sentences in Maxsea's Check Data window. The Nav Data window shows COG and SOG but not position (and no, I am not on the equator!). It is correctly configured on COM 9 and I can send route data to the GPS via Maxsea.
Here is sample of the NMEA sentences received which clearly contain my position:

On the data in / out page, highlight the comport active then select advanced settings.
Try different sentenses till it works
For my garmin I have it set to RMC for postion and VTG for SOG and COG
