Maxi 84 - Any one got any ideas for a safe Gas Locker set Up?

I have a 1979 Maxi 84 and I am looking to instal a safe LPG gas set up.

The current set up is in the aft locker open to the engine bay, cabin and bilge.

Any 1980's Maxi owners out there with innovative ideas or have retro fitted something safer to their boats?

You can get a grp bottle holder and circular lid which can go on/in one of your cockpit lockers, in a suitable place in the cockpit. I've done this on a previous boat. Fits the Calor gas 4.5kg bottle. You could get them on ebay, don't remember the seller but was obviously making them. You then need a drain in the base to overboard. The calor gas centre may have alternatives.

Had the same problem with a maxi 95 , i got a large cool box , use them at work ,through bolted to bottom of locker where gas bottle sat , fitted a drain to bottom then to dedicated skin fitting , job done and surveyor happy ,
